Blakeman targets goal trail
Thursday 29th October 2009, 12:44PM GMT.

Liam Blakeman hopes to go on a goal rush after helping fire AFC Telford United into the first round proper of the FA Cup.
The midfield maestro stepped off the substitutes bench to notch the opener in Telford’s 4-0 win over Blyth Spartans on Tuesday evening.
That was his second of the season and he believes he can use that as a catalyst for more to follow in the coming weeks.
That would be perfect timing, with the Bucks’ current second-top scorer – winger Steve Torpey – on the verge of a switch to Blue Square North rivals Fleetwood.
Telford have accepted a bid from the Lancashire club, but the paperwork has yet to be completed which will make the move official.
Torpey has four goals this season, and Blakeman hopes he could play a part in filling the void if, as expected, the former Liverpool apprentice’s departure is confirmed.
“I’ve been getting a lot of a stick about not scoring goals,” said Blakeman. “That was the second one (on Tuesday) and hopefully I can get a few more now.
“I think it was January last season that I got my first one, so to have two before November is not too bad for me. Hopefully I can pick up a few more over the next few weeks.”
l Telford are bracing themselves for a big dose of FA Cup fever as the countdown continues to their clash with League Two side Lincoln City in the first round proper a week on Saturday.
Club officials have moved quickly to confirm that normal matchday admission prices will apply at the New Bucks Head.
That means it will be £11 for adults, £8 for concessions and £1 for under-16s. Season tickets will not be valid for this game, although season ticket holders will be given preference over their usual reserved seats.
Full segregation will be in place and, unlike in most league games, supporters will not be able to transfer stands once inside the stadium.
