Kenny Dalglish signs autographs for fans at the Powerleague in Shrewsbury
There was a very special face in the crowd when amateur footballers battled it out for supremacy at Shrewsbury Town’s Prostar Stadium.
Players from Meole Brace and Sundorne were watched by former Liverpool and Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish.
The man who led Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers to league titles was at the Power League pitches to support Meole Brace Community FC during their match against local rivals Sundorne FC.
To help the team prepare for the big game, Kenny hosted a coaching session with the teenagers.
Dalglish said: “There’s some real talent here in Meole Brace.
“The community partnership between the Meole Brace McDonald’s and local police force is a great idea, offering under-privileged teenagers a chance to play regular football and benefit from proper coaching in a controlled and disciplined environment.”
