HFD31TEDDY ATeenagers in Newtown are cleaning up to raise funds for Children in Need.

The youngsters from the Newtown Youth Centre after-school club held a sponsored litter pick last week and on Thursday will turn the centre in Plantation Lane into a car wash.

Drivers can take along their vehicles from 3.40pm until 5.30pm and have them washed in return for a £3 donation.

Area youth worker Kate Williams said the teenagers were doing a great job in raising funds for Children in Need.

“Last Thursday they picked up 10 big bin bags of rubbish at Newtown High School and in Plantation Lane,” she said.

“This Thursday they will spend their after-school session cleaning cars. They are only a small group but they are really dedicated to raising the money,” she added.
