Caravan destroyed by pan fire

Saturday 17th October 2009, 10:46AM BST.

An unattended chip pan sparked a fire which burned a static caravan near Oswestry to the ground.

Nobody was injured in the fire, which broke out on the side of the B4398 near Llanymynech shortly after 6pm yesterday.

Paul Plant, fire station manager from Telford, who attended the fire as the incident commander, said: “The caravan was totally destroyed.

“The people who were staying there left a chip pan unattended and came back to find the caravan on fire.”
