Kightly keeps the faith

Michael Kightly is confident Wolves can get back to winning ways and stay in the Premier League.
Mick McCarthy’s side went into the international break on the back of three successive defeats and return to face a tough trip to Everton next Saturday. But the winger believes there is enough quality in the ranks to win their battle for survival.
“We’re confident we can win games in this league and we’ve performed fairly well,” said Kightly. “The games are tough but we feel we’ve got enough to stay in this division.
“The difference in this league is a team like Portsmouth get one chance and they score.”
Kightly feels Wolves also deserve more luck after missing out on penalties in the last two games.
“We really want to be scoring the first goal so we don’t have to chase games,” he said.
“We also probably need luck and the odd penalty. We feel we can win games and on our day give teams problems.”
Kightly marked his first 90 minutes for more than six months with a goal in Wednesday’s 1-1 reserves’ draw at Villa. Now he wants to do the same against Villa’s first team in two weeks’ time at Molineux.
“It was great to get 90 minutes in the bag and to get on the scoresheet,” he said. “I’d love to be back to play them for real.”
