Shrewsbury’s Cromwells hotel and restaurant has gone on the market with a price tag of almost £600,000.
The Grade II listed building in Dogpole, which has six en-suite letting rooms, is being sold by agents Fleurets.
According to the agents, the business had a net turnover of £428,339 in 2007.
This is based on unaudited accounts.
And management accounts for the year ending 2008, indicate a net turnover of £338,583.
A member of staff at the hotel today said the owner was away on holiday and she did not know why it had been put up for sale.
Fleurets say the two-storey building is available for about £590,000.
It says: “The restaurant seats 24 diners comfortably at a range of loose tables and chairs. There is a well equipped trade kitchen behind the restaurant together with a storage area.
“The main bar boasts a host of historic features including wooden beams, feature brick wall and quarry effect floor tiles.”
The premises also includes a rear patio and terrace area which can provide room for a further 44 customers.
The six bedrooms are arranged as either twins, doubles or a family room, with the tariffs ranging from between £50 and £100 per room for bed and breakfast.
