Power cut hits homes

Electricity wiresMore than 2,800 homes in Telford were left without power following problems at an electricity sub station.

The power cut happened in Dawley, Madeley and Stirchley at around 4.10pm yesterday.

Andrew Barrow, from Central Networks, said there was a problem with the transformer at one of the sub stations and 2,829 customers were affected.

He added: “We apologise to any customers who were affected by the power going down and we had our engineers on site very quickly.”
