Drayton facing Trophy trauma

Thursday 8th October 2009, 6:00PM BST.

football-pitch1Market Drayton Town have seen their hopes of bringing forward their FA Trophy replay at Bamber Bridge dashed.

Drayton were due to travel to Lancashire on Tuesday, but the game was called off at 4.30pm.

The qualifying round tie was re-scheduled for next Tuesday but – in an attempt to avoid more problems with their players’ work commitments – Drayton officials had hoped they could play the game on Saturday.

That request has been turned down, meaning Simon Line’s side will now travel to Rushall in UniBond League division one south this weekend.
