Water bosses to visit region
Tuesday 6th October 2009, 1:33PM BST.
Severn Trent bosses are set to meet Oswestry residents tonight following a host of complaints over the quality of the water.
It follows Severn Trent’s switching of the water supply from the Welsh hills to the River Severn some years ago.
Today, the first of two drop-in sessions will be held at the town’s Guildhall from 4pm until 7pm.
Representatives from Severn Trent Water will be on hand to hear residents’ views. A further session will be held tomorrow from 11am until 1pm.
Councillor John Evans, who has led the Oswestry Water Forum, said: “The town council has provided this opportunity to talk face to face with Severn Trent.”
Company bosses have also offered to visit properties in Oswestry.
David Essex, water strategy manager, said: “I am keen to taste water at local properties, particularly where customers feel this would help to get their views across.”
