A car driver and a motorcyclist were airlifted to hospital after being involved in two separate collisions on Shropshire roads.
In the first incident, the busy A442 was closed for more than two hours as a man was cut free from his car following a one-vehicle collision near Bridgnorth.
The motorist, in his 70s, was airlifted to hospital suffering from a serious arm injury after the crash at 8am on Saturday, at Shatterford, near to Alveley.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “A car overturned, ending up in a hedge, trapping the driver. The patient was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar before being flown to Selly Oak Hospital.”
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was flown to hospital after he was involved in a collision in Church Lane, Tasley, Bridgnorth, at 2.15pm on Saturday.
The ambulance spokesman added: “The motorcyclist, who is in his late teens, had been involved in a collision with a car.”
He suffered minor injuries.
