Former cabinet minister David Blunkett walks in the church grounds with wife Dr Margaret Williams, following their marriage at Victoria Hall Methodist Church, Sheffield, on Saturday.
Former Home Secretary David Blunkett has returned to Shropshire for a short holiday after marrying for the second time.
The MP for Sheffield Brightside married Dr Margaret Williams in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Saturday.
The couple then headed to the county where Mr Blunkett had been a student at Rowton Castle, then known as the Royal Normal College for the Blind and Albrighton Hall.
Mr Blunkett, 62, and Dr Williams, who is also divorced, got engaged in January after being together for three years.
Mr Blunkett said after the service: “We are very happy that both of us have found love, friendship and contentment.
“We were both born in Sheffield and love the city. Given my plans to stand again in the general election, we will not be uprooting our homes or our routine and Margaret will be continuing her work as a GP in the city.”
Mr Blunkett, who was born blind, married his first wife Ruth in 1970.
The couple, who have three sons, divorced in 1990.
Dr Williams, a senior partner at Sheffield Medical Centre, has three daughters.
Other guests at the ceremony included ex-Cabinet Minister Hazel Blears and Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell.
