Thieves con woman, 83

Distraction burglars conned their way into an elderly woman’s Telford home before stealing her purse, bank cards and cheque book.
Two men knocked on the 83-year-old’s door in Hartshill Avenue, Oakengates, and said they wanted to check her water supply at about 2pm yesterday.
The pair were aged 20 to 30 and were wearing dark clothes.
One of them may have had a Scottish accent.
This offence may be linked to a similar incident in Shrewsbury earlier in the day and anyone with information can call Telford Police on 0300 333 3000.
