Remains of Foster home to be demolished
Thursday 1st October 2009, 10:25AM BST.

The house where a failed Shropshire businessman murdered his wife and daughter is to be demolished to make way for a luxury home.
The burned-out remains of Osbaston House at Maesbrook, near Oswestry, will be bulldozed and a three-storey property and outbuildings will be built in the grounds but not on the site of the existing house.
Shropshire Council planning officers gave the go-ahead yesterday under delegated powers, subject to conditions.
Since the murders the site has been sealed off for safety reasons.
Chris Foster murdered his 15-year-old daughter Kirstie and his wife Jill at the house in August 2008.
Foster, 50, who faced huge debts, killed the family pets then set fire to Osbaston House, killing himself.
A planning application was lodged earlier this year with Shropshire Council planning chiefs by receivers appointed by the bank which owns the premises.
A spokesman for Shropshire Council said: “Planning permission has been granted because the development accords with the saved policies of the Oswestry Borough Local Plan and because the development will bring the site back into beneficial residential use.”
Rubble from the house believed to contain Kirstie’s remains was buried in the grounds of Osbaston House during a ceremony in July.
The bank had offered to put a memorial garden in the grounds which the family would have access to but they declined the offer.
Birmingham property consultants GVA Grimley Ltd acted as agents for the proposal and said no new development would take place on the site of the existing house.
It is anticipated that the site will be sold now planning permission has been granted.
