Shrewsbury Town 3 Northampton 0
Saturday 26th September 2009, 6:28PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town produced an accomplished performance at the Prostar Stadium as they brushed Northampton aside to record their third straight victory.
The opening goal was converted by striker Jake Robinson on 22 minutes after good work by captain Graham Coughlan.
The other two came in the space of five minutes early in the second half, and both in near-identical fashion off in-swinging free-kicks from Kevin McIntyre.
It was Joss Labadie who got on the end of the first one to double Shrewsbury’s lead on 49 minutes, before Kelvin Langmead repeated the trick just moments later.
