Band on lookout for new members

A Shropshire band is calling on budding brass players in the county to join its musical team.
Newport Town Band is looking for anyone interested in playing a brass instrument and band chairman Adam Elmore said people would be trained.
He said: “We have some instruments here that they can use so they don’t have to have their own. We are a non-profit organisation so obviously we need members and the numbers are dwindling lately.”
The band meets every Wednesday in Edgmond Methodist Hall from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Anyone interested in joining should meet at the hall on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
