Cyclist injured in accident

A road in a Shropshire town was closed after a cyclist suffered head injuries following a collision with a car.
The incident yesterday afternoon in Low Town, Bridgnorth, was one of a number of road accidents involving cyclists over the weekend.
The cyclist in his 50s was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford suffering from head injuries.
The collision happened at the junction of Underhill Street and New Road. Underhill Street, including the Low Town bridge, was closed for a time as the man received treatment before being taken to hospital.
His condition was not thought to be life-threatening.
A cyclist was also taken to hospital after his bike collided with a car on a main road outside Ellesmere.
The 60-year-old man suffered leg and hip injuries, which were not serious, after he was in collision with the car on the A495 Ellesmere to Whitchurch road yesterday morning .
The cyclist was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment but the driver of the car was not hurt.
A nine-year-old boy, riding a bike, was also injured in a collision with a car in Lorne Street, Oswestry, at about 6pm yesterday.
He was treated at the scene for a head injury and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
