Man injured in accident

A man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after a crash between a car and a lorry at a busy north Shropshire roundabout.

The man was released from the car by the fire service using hydraulic cutting equipment following the crash at the A41 and A53 junction at Tern Hill, near Market Drayton, just after 11.30am yesterday.

Claire Thomas, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said: “The front seat passenger of the car, a man believed to be in his 20s, suffered a serious head injury in the crash and was trapped for a period.”
