The team dominated the home team and made them look a poor side.
Jake Robinson took the first goal in the 28th minute, and Dave Hibbert took the second thanks to a penalty in the 75th after a handball decision went against Moses Swaibu.
Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson said it was the most professional performance he had seen from his side in the past 16 months and, apart from some missed opportunities in the second half, he “couldn’t have asked for more”.
