It’s the time of year when studios release the films that weren’t blockbustery enough to be blockbusters or which didn’t stand a chance at the Oscars.

First up, Gamer, with Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall. Is it worth playing or would you be better off with a book?

Also, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, an animated film about a young inventor with a device for solving world hunger. It’s colourful and more animated than the cast of Gamer.

Finally, there’s The Firm, a remake of the old TV drama about football hooligans. It’s certainly timely, given recent headlines.
