Prison officers carry knives

Prison officers at a Shropshire jail carry knives with them so they can cut ligatures from people found hanging in their cell, a watchdog has revealed.
A new report by the Independent Monitoring Board of HM Prison Shrewsbury reveals the Prison Ombudsman suggested officers carry fish knives after the death of Stephen Heames last year.
