When Phillip and Sharon Beddoes went to sleep on Saturday night they didn’t believe in UFOs.

But come Sunday morning they weren’t quite so certain.

For the couple, of Arleston Avenue, Wellington, saw an orange light in the sky above their house. It first hovered in the air before “pirouetting and dancing” across the sky. Then it disappeared at enormous speed.

“When we first saw it, it was in one position behind the trees in the woods,” said Mr Beddoes, 39. “There was nothing else in the sky but this orange glow.”

He said the light, which was diamond-shaped with smaller lights inside it, darted about in the air but made no noise. “And then it was gone in the blink of an eye.”

Mr Beddoes, a cleaning supervisor at GKN Sankey, said: “We could not talk to each other afterwards. We were amazed.”

Sharon and Phillip Beddoes from Arleston, near Wellington, filmed a UFO through their bedroom window

The orange glow was in the sky long enough for Mrs Beddoes to video it on her mobile phone.

Steve Smith, of Dawley Bank, saw something similar on Sunday evening. His UFO also moved across the sky but made no sound.

The Beddoes say they have no idea what it was they saw, but they hope a Shropshire Star reader can give them an explanation.

“I have never seen anything like that at all,” said Mr Beddoes. “I know what a plane is, everyone does, but for it to start in that position and then do what it did. I cannot explain it.”

Mr Beddoes said that before seeing the light he had paid little attention to UFO stories. “I’m not a believer,” he said, “but I’ve got some doubts now.”

As these things go, what they describe is very unusual and I guess it’s extremely unlikely to ever be identified except as a hoax, with them the victims and perhaps the perps. But I recommend they take a look at “The Day After Roswell” if they are sincere since that can help understanding.

    Just google “NASA UFO footage”…

And watch this guy’s channel, here’s one of the vids that caught my eye…

I didn’t believe either up until Aug. 13th when my wife and I watched the Perseid meteor shower. We saw something very similar to the video I linked to.

Could this have been the ‘Chinese Lantern’ type object that my wife drew my attention to on the very same evening. This object caught my wifes eye as it floated past our house (in Shawbirch) at a relatively low altitude rising as it floated towards Wellington.

I detect similarities with so-called ‘black triangle’ aircraft which seem to have lights at each corner and in the middle as does the object in this video. These are often seen low down, moving slowly. I’m in two minds about where they come from. They could well be terrestrial rather than extra-terrestrial. There are quite a lot of videos of these on the web and a look at them may help Mr and Mrs Beddoes to firm up their opinions about what they saw. However, on one thing I agree. These were not Chinese Lanterns, which float with the wind.

With a record number of sightings this year it makes you wonder if we really are going to make contact one day. May I reccommend people familiarise themselves with – George Green Depopulation and the Pleaidians before its to late and our liberties are stripped from us.

Regarding,Simons comment, we too saw the same ‘lantern’ object. It was really odd, we remember it because we were watching the fireworks at the flower show from our house & we saw this strange object which at first we thought was some kind of aircraft, but as it dipped over our heads, it made no sound, then shot off, so very very strange, we wondered if anyone else had seen it. After looking online, the same objet was seen that night, and other nights in other parts of the country!!

KarenK- you are exactly the kind of person who’s opinion we don’t really regard or care about.
how can this be “utter rubbish” when there are all these crediable witnesses?
the beddoes, darren and all the others who have seen something are normally members of the public, and have solid witness accounts.
shropshire is a real hotspot for sightings and i think the authorities should look into it.

I’m not going to try and argue what this was or was not but I would like to complain about the continual misuse of the term UFO.
UFO is an acronym for Unidentified Flying Object. UFOs exist in that people see things they cannot identify. It is then what they are (specifically terrestrial or extra-terrestrial) that is up for debate and what people can choose to believe in or not.
So, please, don’t tell me that they “didn’t believe in UFOs” because you’d have to be pretty stupid not to believe in people seeing something they can’t identify! Tell me they didn’t believe in extra-terrestrial life/visitation of Earth because that’s what you really mean.

    Thanks. Rant over.

Credible witnesses? Do me a lemon.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m of the opinion that the chances of Earth being the only inhabited planet in the universe are so slim I’d put more money on winning the lottery twice in a row.

But why is it that whenever someone sees a UFO they never have ANY device anywhere near them that’s actually capable of recording the subject in anything other than the blurriest of detail?

And they always have tremendous difficulty keeping the camera still and thus aiding identification.

    I WANT TO BELIEVE.

I’ve said it before, but if there were people out there seeking out intelligent life on earth, would they really go to Telford????
