Thousands of people will be descending on a Shropshire tourist attraction when it becomes the location for BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.

The cameras will be focused on Blists Hill Victorian Town at Madeley for the filming of the hit BBC1 programme tomorrow.

Tables will be set up along the new Canal Street at the tourist attraction for people to bring along their family heirlooms.

Some of Britain’s leading antiques and fine arts specialists will be on hand to offer free advice and valuations on household treasures and car boot bargains.

A team from the show has already spent the weekend looking at larger items, including furniture to pick those to feature in the show.

Paul Gossage, spokesman for the Ironbridge Museum Gorge Trust, said he was hoping the weather would be good for the outdoor show.

“We are delighted to welcome the Antiques Roadshow to Blists Hill Victorian Town.”

He said they hoped to attract about 2,000 visitors to the show, more than doubling the normal number of visitors to the attraction.

Mr Gossage said entrance would be free to those going to the show, which is presented by Fiona Bruce.
