Pegasus are a danger, says Chambers

AFC Telford have vowed not to be complacent when the early giantkillers of the FA Cup come to the New Bucks Head next week.
Yesterday’s second qualifying round draw paired the Bucks with a home tie against Herefordshire-based club Pegasus Juniors, a game that will take place on Saturday week.
The Hellenic League premier division side have already served warning of their potential in the competition this season by following up a 5-1 victory over Ellesmere with shock victories at higher-graded Willenhall and Hednesford, who they defeated 4-1 away on Saturday.
“All you can ask for from the draw is a home tie and, with the fact that it is against a team from a lower level, we have to be pleased,” said assistant manager Larry Chambers.
“But Pegasus are saving their best form for the FA Cup and there is no way we will be complacent.
“I spoke to someone who watched their game at Hednesford on Saturday and they said Pegasus thoroughly deserved it – it was no fluke result.
“We will have them watched tonight (in a league game at Highworth) and treat them with the respect they deserve.”
Meanwhile, Chambers and manager Rob Smith will attempt to re-group their squad tonight in the first training session since Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Alfreton.
“We have to improve,” added Chambers.
“We worked hard to contain them in the first half on Saturday, but after they scored we capitulated – and that includes players who have performed well for us week in and week out in the past.
“That was disappointing but we are going through a tough spell and we have to stick together.
“Confidence has taken a hit but the only ones who can get us out of this is ourselves – and the only way we are going to do it is by working hard.”
Chambers, meanwhile, has ruled out any reinforcements to back up the three new signings last week by declaring: “We will stick with what we have got for the time being.”
Tonight will see the Bucks’ first Tuesday night training session since the start of the season.
