Murray sets sights on Prostar shut-out

Paul Murray has called on Shrewsbury Town’s entire team to ‘tighten up’ defensively as they prepare for a local derby with Crewe.
Town will go in search of their first clean sheet of the season when they take on Crewe in a League encounter for the first time in almost 13 years tomorrow.
And experienced midfielder Murray has set the twin target of a win and shut out at the Prostar Stadium tomorrow.
“We haven’t kept a clean sheet yet this season which is disappointing and as a team, we need to be a bit more solid,” he said.
“It’s not just the back four, it’s the midfield protecting as well and everyone in the team.
“The first thing I’m looking for tomorrow is a win but it’s paramount we keep a clean sheet as well.”
Town began the weekend in 14th position after a mixed start of two wins, two draws and two defeats from six League outings.
Murray believes Town have shown, in patches, they are capable of mounting a promotion charge this season as the new-look squad continues to bed in.
“We have made changes, new players have come in and it takes a bit of gelling,” added the 33-year-old.
“We will just keep plugging away. That away win at Accrington and some decent spells in games at home shows there is something there to look forward to.
“I think it’s anyone’s League again and it’s wide open. Let’s have everyone sticking behind us and get up the table.
“Crewe will be a tough game and they have got some good players.
“But we are on our home patch and we have to make this place what it was last season – a big fortress.”
Striker Kris Bright has recovered from a minor niggle sustained in the 3-0 reserve team victory at West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
That ensures manager Paul Simpson will have an 18-man squad to select from – and a full compliment of seven subs.
