Death case woman released by police
Thursday 10th September 2009, 11:29AM BST.
A woman held by police after a man died from puncture wounds at a house in Bridgnorth has been released on bail.
The woman, in her 30s, was freed from custody yesterday afternoon as police attempted to piece together the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
She was released at about 4pm after being questioned by detectives.
The 40-year-old man died after an incident on Monday evening when he suffered puncture wounds to the chest at the home in Ash Road he shared with a woman and two children.
He was set to be formally identified by relatives today.
Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: “A woman has been released on bail pending further inquiries.”
The couple who live at the address, said to be quiet and unassuming by neighbours, only moved into the house about six weeks ago.
Police forensic officers spent 48 hours combing the semi-detached house, and a silver saloon car parked in the driveway, for clues.
Initially protective-suited scene-of-crime officers searched the house from top to bottom, but they were replaced yesterday morning by a specialist team hunting for more vital pieces of evidence.
