Ashley Blake launches appeal

Ashley BlakeShamed TV presenter Ashley Blake is launching a bid to get his two-year prison term reduced, it emerged this afternoon.

The sacked Midlands Today journalist is seeking leave to appeal against the sentence he was given for attacking a teenager with a wooden pole.

Errol Robinson, senior partner at Birmingham law firm McGrath and Co, today confirmed Blake was seeking leave to appeal his sentence.

Greg Jones, the 17-year-old attacked by Blake, said he was not surprised.

“It just shows that he is not man enough to realise what he has done and take the punishment he deserves,” he said.
