Shrewsbury Town 1 Bradford 2
Saturday 5th September 2009, 5:44PM BST.
Two first half goals condemned Shrewsbury to a home defeat as Bradford City collected their first ever victory at the Prostar Stadium.
Gareth Evans stabbed in the opener on 15 minutes and Michael Flynn doubled the visitors’ advantage before half-time with a fabulous long-range strike.
Dave Hibbert gave Shrewsbury hope in the second half with a header off Jake Simpson’s cross. It was Hibbert’s fifth goal of the season so far.
Kelvin Langmead and manager’s son Simpson both hit the woodwork for Town, but the hosts could not conjure up an equaliser.
