Crash boy breaks leg

Saturday 5th September 2009, 9:50AM BST.

A 15-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and head and shoulder injuries after being struck by a car in Shrewsbury.

The car collided with the teenager in Crowmere Road just before 5pm yesterday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman Suzanne Fothergill said: “He was treated at the scene… and suffered shoulder and head injuries, as well as a fractured leg. The driver of the car was uninjured.”

Miss Fothergill said the teenager was taken by ambulance to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but added that the head and shoulder injuries were not thought to be serious.
