AFC Telford 2 Harrogate 1

Saturday 5th September 2009, 5:37PM BST.

bucks_logo1AFC Telford United recorded their first home win of the Blue Square North season as they scored two second half goals to sink Harrogate.

The Bucks had looked like they might be in for more frustration when they went in goalless at the break, having already lost striker Andy Brown to an aggravated rib injury.

But they took control in the second half, scoring twice in six minutes to stand on the brink of victory.

Substitute Steve Torpey fired in the first off the impressive Steve Jagielka’s cross before Phil Trainer thumped in a screaming second.

Harrogate pulled one back through Brian Dutton and then applied pressure in the closing stages, but Telford held on for the three points.
