Friday 4th September 2009, 11:29AM BST.

Shrewsbury town centre will come to a standstill this weekend for the town’s three-day International Street Theatre Festival.

Performers have descended on Shrewsbury today for the event, with the town centre closed off to make way for them to showcase their acts. The festival, which is now in in its fourth year, runs until Sunday.

During the event, Pride Hill, Wyle Cop, High Street, The Square, Mardol Head and Shoplatch will be closed to traffic between 8am and 6pm each day.
