Poor summer weather was blamed for fewer high-quality class entries in this year’s Church Stretton and District Gardening club summer show.
But John Bricknell, show secretary, said the show, held on Saturday, August 29, was still fairly well supported, with colourful entries in the flower section.
The results were as follows:
- The Banksian medal – presented by the Royal Horticultural Society to Mr. Reg. Beasley for being the exhibiter with the most points for the Fruit & Vegetable and Flower classes 1 to 55.
- The Presidents Cup won by Mr. Reg. Beasley as the exhibitor with the most outstanding exhibit in the Fruit and Vegetable Classes for his leeks.
