Concerns grow for husband
Tuesday 25th August 2009, 10:23AM BST.
The wife of a pensioner missing from his home near Market Drayton for a week today said she fears the worse.
Gordon Beard, 79, who suffers from dementia, disappeared from his home in Kestrel Drive, Loggerheads, a week ago.
Today, his wife Florence, 82, said she and her family were starting to “think the worst”. She said: “I’m so worried about him.
“We are starting to think the worst so we are going to have to be a bit more positive. If we do get him home he probably won’t be able to tell us where he has been.
“He just went for a walk, which is totally out of character, because he has not been out for walks for ages. He got himself dressed and went out with his walking stick and that’s it, he’s just gone into oblivion.”
Police and the Army have been involved in the search for Mr Beard. He has not been seen since last Tuesday.
He is white, 5ft 9in, well built with grey hair. He was wearing a cream shirt, black trousers, walking boots and carrying a walking stick.
Information to police on 0300 123 4455.
