Lorry sheds load into house

Saturday 22nd August 2009, 11:42PM BST.

A Shropshire home has been severely damaged after a 20-tonne piece of metal pressing machinery slid off a lorry and crashed into it.

The house in Welshampton was empty when the equipment came off the lorry and smashed into its living room at about 3.20pm on Saturday.
The damage forced police to close off a long section of the main A495 Ellesmere to Whitchurch road on Saturday afternoon, amid fears the building could collapse on to the road.
