Bargain Hunters hit town

Bargain hunters descended on a Shropshire auction house in the name of TV.
An episode of hit BBC antiques show Bargain Hunt was filmed at Halls auction house in Shrewsbury yesterday.
A TV crew along with show presenter Tim Wonnacott were in the town to film the show in which two teams are given one hour and £300 to buy a selection of antiques.
The items are then auctioned off and the winners are the ones who make the biggest profit on their purchases.
There were eight teams from in and around Shropshire who took part in the filming, which will be broadcast in four programmes in about three months’ time. Georgina Cusack, 43, from Worthen, made up one half of a team with her friend Derek Tomley, 50.
The Shrewsbury College teacher said she watched the show during the school holidays and had enjoyed the experience of being on it herself.
Mr Tomley, an architect, also from Worthen, said they had bought some Edwardian silver menu holders, a silver cigarette case and a union flag.
He said they also had a bonus buy of a silver timepiece.
“It’s been fantastic, we’ve had a really good time,” he said.
The pair were asked to remain tight-lipped about who won the show until it is broadcast later this year.
