Rescue for man in tight squeeze
Wednesday 19th August 2009, 7:59PM BST.
A man who got his head stuck in the window of his Shrewsbury home while chatting to his wife needed firefighters to get him out of a tight squeeze.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the house in Kemps Eye Avenue, Belle Vue, just before 8.20pm yesterday.
Today the man’s wife, who did not wish to be named, said: “My husband got stuck when he was speaking to me.
“He’s very tall and he put his head through the window when I was in the conservatory because I couldn’t hear what he was saying.
“He couldn’t get out so I tried pushing and pulling him but I had to call the fire service.
“They sent three or four firemen and they took the window off the hinges to get him out.
“He was fine but he felt foolish.”
A spokeswoman for the fire service said that one crew from Shrewsbury had gone to the man’s aid and used small gear to release him.
