Driver punches teenage cyclist

A teenager suffered facial injuries after he was attacked by a car driver in Wellington.
The 18-year-old man was on his bicycle trying to cross the road at Watling Street when a black BMW pulled up in front of him.
The driver then got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim by punching him to the face.
He then went back into his vehicle and drove off.
The teenager suffered swelling and bruising to his face and needed treatment at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital.
Police are investigating the matter, which happened between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursday and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Telford police spokeswoman Denise Wakefield, said: “The incident occurred outside the Swan Hotel and the motorbike shop in Watling Street.
“Following the assault the vehicle made off towards Ketley, turning left in the direction of TCAT.
“The offender is described as a black male, around 6ft tall with short black hair.
“He was wearing dark clothing.
“Other occupants were also in the vehicle at the time of the assault.
“If you witnessed the assault or know who the offender is, please come forward,” she added.
