AFC Telford 2 Hinckley 2

Tuesday 18th August 2009, 10:38PM BST.

A stirring second half fightback rescued a point for AFC Telford United, as they came from two down at the break to share the spoils.

Hinckley took the lead on seven minutes, Connor Franklin applying the finish from close range after Richard Lavery’s header had been blocked on the line by Lee Vaughan.

The second came on 36 minutes when Neil Cartwright tried his luck with a speculative long-range effort and saw it take a wicked deflection to wrong-foot keeper Ryan Young.

A double substitution at half-time revitalised Telford, and they hit back with a Lee Vaughan goal before Andy Brown levelled from the penalty spot on 67 minutes. That was given after Steve Torpey had been tripped by left-back Stuart Giddings.

Telford finished with 10 men when Carl Rodgers was sent off six minutes from time for an alleged stamp on Lavery.
