Comic Jeremy back for more laughs

Thursday 13th August 2009, 8:46AM BST.

jeremy-hardyAward-winning comedian Jeremy Hardy is returning to Shropshire for a performance later this month.

Last time the stand-up comic visited the town he had not booked a hotel and was unable to get a room in Ludlow because they were all booked up in anticipation of his performance.

His last show at Ludlow Assembly Rooms was a sell-out and sales for his show on August 29 are doing well.

He describes his current tour as “an extravaganza, except for the fact that nothing happens”.

Jeremy’s live work has included Just 4 Laughs at the Montreal Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he won the Perrier award, which supports young comedy talent, and numerous sell-out tours of the UK and Ireland.

He is also a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and a frequent guest on I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue and Just a Minute.  He has also written and performed his own series for Radio 4, Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation.

His recent television credits include Mock the Week, QI, Grumpy Old Men, Back in the Day, Human Rights, Human Wrongs, Not Tonight with John Sergeant and BBC 2’s satirical look at the London mayoral election All the Fun of the Mayor.

He will be performing at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on August 29 at 8pm. To book call the box office on (01584) 878141.
