Missing woman ‘spotted in pub’

Wednesday 12th August 2009, 11:00AM BST.

sd32528351A 29-year-old Shropshire woman who made a desperate call to police saying she was lost and had fallen in a ditch was spotted in a county pub the following morning, it was claimed today.

The possible sighting comes as police today said they were becoming “increasingly concerned” for the safety of Tracy Gough, from Ludlow.

She rang police on her mobile shortly before 10pm on Saturday saying she had bumped her head after falling into a hole or ditch and was unable to get out.

Telephone contact was lost soon after but she thought she might be in the Cockshutt area and phone triangulation checks on the location of the call also indicated the call came from the Cockshutt area.

It was thought Miss Gough may have been spotted in The Grapes at Bicton early on Sunday evening but this now appears unlikely.
