Doctor regains access to bank accounts
Wednesday 12th August 2009, 4:40PM BST.
Shropshire doctor Mohammed Asha, who was cleared of taking part in the London and Glasgow car bomb attacks, was given access to his bank accounts again today.
Treasury bosses released the financial assets of Dr Asha, 28, two years after freezing them in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
Officials announced they have revoked a move made under the Terrorism (United Nations measures) Order 2006.
As a result, Dr Asha’s name was also removed from an international list of targets for financial sanctions.
Dr Asha was cleared of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions at Woolwich Crown Court last year.
He is currently working at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
