Asha deport case dropped
Friday 7th August 2009, 2:39PM BST.
The Government has dropped its attempts to deport Mohammed Asha, the former Shropshire doctor cleared of involvement in the London and Glasgow bomb plots, sources said today.
The Home Office had maintained that despite Dr Asha, 28, who worked at both Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, being cleared at trial, he still presented a threat to security.
The case against him was due to be heard in October, but has been withdrawn.
