Swine flu girl died from natural causes
Thursday 6th August 2009, 3:58PM BST.
A 16-year-old Shropshire girl who was originally said to be suffering from swine flu but who was later diagnosed with tonsillitis, died from natural causes, a post mortem has confirmed.
But ongoing tests are continuing to establish exactly what caused Charlotte Hartey’s death.
Charlotte, of Quinta, Weston Rhyn, near Oswestry, died at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Friday.
A spokeswoman for the coroner’s office said that a post mortem was carried out today.
“The deputy corner Mr Antony Sibcy has been issued with a natural cause of death by the pathologist,” she said.
“Further tests are ongoing.”
She said the cause of death meant that there would be no inquest into Charlotte’s death.
