long-myndA public consultation will begin next week to help shape the development of Shropshire over the next 20 years.

Shropshire Council is inviting comments on its draft Core Strategy planning policy document which will set out a clear vision for  future development across the county.

Martin Taylor-Smith, council cabinet member for strategic planning and transportation, said: “I hope people will take the chance to tell us their thoughts.

“The comments we receive will be used to inform the further development of the Core Strategy and will help us to decide the policies outlined in the final plan.

This really is a chance for people across the county to make their voice heard, and to play a big part in influencing the development of Shropshire over the next 20 years.”

The consultation will run from Monday until  October 2. An electronic copy of the draft plan and its supporting documents can be found on the Shropshire Council website from August 10 at www.shropshire.gov.uk/planning.nsf

Officers are holding a series of consultation meetings. These will take place at: the Shirehall council chamber, Shrewsbury on September 1; Whitchurch Civic Centre and Ludlow Football Club on September 8; Bridgnorth and Oswestry council chambers on September 9;  Gateway Centre, Shrewsbury on September 10 and the Grove School, Market Drayton on September 14.
