Blake case jury retires

Britain - NewsThe jury in the case of Midlands Today presenter Ashley Blake, who is accused of hitting a teenager with a large wooden pole, retired today to consider its verdict.

Blake is accused of swinging the patio umbrella pole above his head and striking 17-year-old Greg Jones in the face as an 18th birthday party ended at The Place 2 B pub in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, which he owned at the time.

The 40-year-old, who also works on the Inside Out current affairs show, denies wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and an alternative charge of unlawful wounding.
