Blake case jury retires
Monday 3rd August 2009, 2:48PM BST.
The jury in the case of Midlands Today presenter Ashley Blake, who is accused of hitting a teenager with a large wooden pole, retired today to consider its verdict.
Blake is accused of swinging the patio umbrella pole above his head and striking 17-year-old Greg Jones in the face as an 18th birthday party ended at The Place 2 B pub in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, which he owned at the time.
The 40-year-old, who also works on the Inside Out current affairs show, denies wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and an alternative charge of unlawful wounding.
