Mr Clarke, 33, of Ketley, won an auction organised by the club at its fifth anniversary dinner to become the side’s 13th squad member for the season.
He arrived at the game against Wellington Amateurs as a spectator, but was overjoyed when boss Rob Smith called him up.
“Rob came up to me and told me I had been called up,” he said. “I asked him if he was being serious and he said get your boots and you can have a run.”
The Telford supporter spent the final 10 minutes of last night’s 5-0 win on the pitch as a replacement for Danny Carey-Bertram.
Steve added: “For me, being a fan, it was an absolute dream to get 10 minutes or so at the end. I was blown away, really. I am just so speechless and chuffed.”
Anton Gunter, commercial manager for the club, said today: “Mr Clarke is a registered player with both the club and the Conference following the auction and it was decided to call him up for last night’s game.”
