Pensioner dies in crash

An elderly man has died and a woman injured in a car smash on a county road.
The man, in his 70s, died after his Fiat Punto collided with an Audi A4 estate car on the B4194 between Button Oak and Kinlet, near Cleobury Mortimer, yesterday, at about 10.45am.
Murray MacGregor, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “On arrival, it quickly became evident there was nothing that could be done for the driver of one of the cars and an elderly man was confirmed dead at the scene.
“A woman in her 70s from Halesowen was taken to hospital.”
