Probe over slurry death

Tuesday 28th July 2009, 11:57AM BST.

Investigations were continuing today into the death of a boy who fell into a slurry pit on a Shropshire farm.

The youngster, believed to be aged seven, fell into the pit on a farm in Shirlett, between Broseley and Much Wenlock, on Friday afternoon.

He was dragged out of the pit by his father and, despite the best efforts of family and paramedics called to the scene, he could not be saved.

The boy was airlifted to Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
