Teenage cyclist hurt in collision

A teenage cyclist suffered a suspected broken leg in a collision with a car in Telford.
The boy, thought to be aged about 15, was hurt in the collision in Hadley Park Road, Leegomery, yesterday.
He was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford after being found lying in the middle of the road by ambulance crews yesterday following the incident which happened shortly before 4pm.
The car driver was unhurt.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said an ambulance and incident support officer were sent to the scene.
Claire Thomas, service spokeswoman, said: “Crews arrived to find a teenage boy in the middle of the road who was off his bicycle. A car was nearby.
“The teenage boy suffered a suspected broken leg in the crash. Crews treated the boy at the scene and splinted his leg before he was taken by land ambulance to Princess Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
“No-one else was injured in the crash.”
Inspector Mark Hatton, West Mercia Police force duty inspector, said officers had attended and the driver of the car was still at the scene.
He said: “Inquiries are still ongoing and officers are speaking to witnesses.”
