Wolverhampton 54 Coventry Bees 39

Tuesday 21st July 2009, 8:00PM BST.

speedway_lindgrenWolves maintained their 100 per cent home record by adding three more Elite League points at the expense of local rivals Coventry.

Parrys International Wolves tore into their opponents into the early stages to take full control of the meeting, and they always looked likely to take maximum reward with Tai Woffinden racking up his biggest score of the season.

Coventry’s chief resistance came from Chris Harris and Olly Allen, with the latter’s fast gating leading to several good races, including a last-bend dash by Peter Karlsson to win Heat 4 – whilst Harris came past Woffinden in the closing stages of the next race.

Wolves eased to victory with a huge majority of race winners, whilst Coventry suffered a series of falls and disqualifications for Filip Sitera and Jordan Frampton in particular.

It was another fine all-round effort to maintain Wolves’ position in the top two and give them further confidence ahead of Thursday’s trip to Peterborough.

WOLVES 54: Tai Woffinden 12+1, Peter Karlsson 11, Fredrik Lindgren 11, Ty Proctor 6+2, Niolai Klindt 6+1, Chris Kerr 5, Adam Skornicki 3.

COVENTRY 39: Chris Harris 14, Olly Allen 11, Edward Kennett 9, Ricky Wells 4+3, Filip Sitera 1, Jordan Frampton 0, Rory Schlein R/R.
