Will I bother to read the full report in the Shropshire Star?

Following on from the obvious Shrewsbury town bias in the reporting of this years play-off finals I think I’ll give it a miss!

And as this is a critical comment I won’t hold my breath waiting to see it published!

Serotonin, as STFC are shropshires’ only league club, and their following is well over double of Telfords’ are you surprised the star cover STFC more than telford?? in my opinion for a non-league, semi-pro club, telford recieve more than enough press from the star.

    typical telfordite attitude…….moan moan moan

    Andrew,

Sarcasm is often said to be the lowest form of wit, not to mention a bit unprofessional. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Oh the Irony, you made your comment…

…and then it appears you deemed it necessary to edit out my follow-up comment!

    So to clarify…

As 90% of my posts that have been critical of the Shropshire Star have never been published then the answer is pretty much…

YES you DO edit anything that criticises the newspaper!

Its obviously a big deal for Telford Fans, winning the Shropshire Senior Cup!! Shame we have to enter it really because if we don’t we can’t enter the FA CUP which is most important. The Senior Cup should be for all Non League Clubs in Shropshire with players who have Amateur Status only. Congrats to Telford, just a shame we dont consider you as a rival but more of a hinderance really. Our rivalries are with League clubs such as Wrexham, Chester, Hereford and Crewe who we have league history with.

Not really such a big deal winning the SSC for us either more a case of rubbing it in your smug faces. And for your information we also had a reasonable FA cup run ourselves last year as well as winning the Setanta Shield. TBH I expected comment like this from the supporters of the smaller town in Shropshire ;)

Enjoy your league football while it lasts. We look forward to giving you some more of the same when we meet you in the Blue Square Premier in 2010/11 PMSL

i am neither a Telford or Shrewsbury fan but i do like to follow up on how Telford are doing
Both teams are in Shropshire and this paper is called shropshire star so surely both teams should have same amount of write ups
but just lately Shrewsbury gets pages upon pages and Telford dont get no where near the same amount of coverage.

Very funny – most Shrewsbury Town fans suggest that the Shropshire Star is always more favorable towards Telford Untied.

…the only thing I would like to see is a Sports pull out and put the business section in on a Tuesday. Then EVERYONE can read about TNS, Drayton, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Salop and AFC Telford. (and of course Wolves / Stoke)

Born Shrewsbury 1939, now living in West Oxfordshire after a career in the RAF, but still a proud Salopian, I am saddened to read these comments above, so come on true Salopians (but reading these coments I doubt many of you are !) lets all pull in the right direction, I would like to see all of our County and Town sports teams do well, but these ridiculous comments do nothing but harm.

Angie, do you think that the Manchester evening news should give Bury, Rochdale and Stockport the same amount of coverage as Manchester United or Manchester City. Or the Evening Standard give Brentford, Dagenham, and Leyton Orient the same amount of coverage as Arsenal or Chelsea when they are clearly the better supported teams. journalistic suicide i think..

Hi, i support telford as i pay to see them, but i also follow a larger club but can’t afford to watch them, telford is made up of over 50% who follow larger clubs, but we choose telford and support our local team, all of us have one goal to see telford in the bsp where we belong, as of press coverage just buy your local area, why give wolves any as there paper in the express and star
